INDESIGN PUBLICATIONS

THE PROJECTS

As a writer, I'm interested in getting my words in front of hungry eyes. Therefore, I teach myself Adobe InDesign so that I can have full control over the look and feel of my words. Here are a few of my layout designs.

ARTICLE FOR KELLER WILLIAMS APPLICATION

How Does Someone Achieve Their Goals? This is the question Keller Ink asks me to answer during the application process for a staff writer position. I am to answer it, not during an interview, but over a ten page article (or what might be considered a chapter of a book). So I put on my researcher hat and read dozens of articles on purpose and goal setting. Then I synthesize my findings into an article, which I produce in InDesign. Click here for the full file.

THE TORCH - RESIDENCE HALL "ZINE"

Let the Light Shine. During college, my residence hall has a "newsletter." It is a sad little thing - one or two pages recapping dorm events. When the previous editor steps down, I decide that I'll take over the position. I realize that Word isn't going to cut it as a design platform. So I learn InDesign in the hopes of making The Torch into a magazine worth reading. We publish at least once a semester (after I hunt down enough students to contribute stories and articles).
